World History: Today we used a "speed dating" method to exchange and obtain information through face to face discussion. From the activity, you should have a solid understanding of population growth and networks of exchange along with their consequences. During the last part of the period, we began to pull back the layers of empire. We will finish this activity tomorrow. You received a handout on empire, please bring it to class tomorrow. It is unfinished and should remain that way.
Due tomorrow: Cornell Notes on Han. What does it take to be an empire?
Civics: Ttoday we held discussion groups on the different forms of government, while focusing on pro/con reasoning. Again we visited the Arab Spring reading... and discussed the implications of totalitarianism and democracy in different contexts. Finally, we headed to the lab to research health care and the affordable health care act. Our focus will remain here through next Tuesday.
Be sure to pay attention to the healh care news and the gov't shut down.
Have a great day!
