World: We began Oceanic Voyages today. Discussed the difference between discovery and exploration and dove into the motives behind nation building. Our main feature is Zheng He and his treasure voyages and the theory outlined by Gavin Menzies that in 1421 the Chinese Discovered the America's. Nice job with the introductory inferences and discussion. The wheels in your brain are churning out a lot of thoughts and that's good! This evening, read the material provide on Eunuchs and the seven treasure voyages... all fair game for Friday's quest. There are four questions to be completed, they will guide you.
Cornell notes from 19.1 & a couple pages in 19.2 were turned in today. I will return them to you tomorrow. Be sure you are preparing for Friday's Quest that will cover the Enlightenment-Science-Explorations through what we do in class. Please come to class prepared tomorrow.
Economics: In class we focused on the key assumptions related to demand and supply, we also revisited production costs and marginal revenue. Be sure you review the charts and graphs in the text to familiarize yourself with processing of the content. There are good visuals there. While we did not finish, we began doing an activity that relates price and supply. Finish up #2 and roman numeral V for tomorrow. We will complete the activity in class tomorrow as we ready ourselves for Friday's test.
Remember, the quest will cover demand (ch. 4) and supply (ch.5) Be sure you can apply your knowledge in practical ways to scenarios and real work information. Do not merely memorize the information, be sure it makes sense to you so you can indeed apply.
