Word, Economics, 13th Seminar

World: We began explorations from the perspective of the Europeans. Today we learned about Columbus.. the conqueror, not the discoverer.  Our goal is to compare and contrast myth v. reality as it relates to explorations and the America's.  We read together a reading by Zinn, related to Columbus and the Indians.  In addition, we held an analysis discussion.

You received Cornell Notes for 20.1. Please complete for credit on Wednesday.  We will continue with the content tomorrow.

1421 Essay's will be graded and returned by the end of the week.
Quizzes were returned and gone over today.

Economics: Today were returned and debriefed today the quiz.  We began the material related to Consumer Finance/Saving.  Goal setting and comparison set  the stage for the importance of goals and saving money. 

To accompany the material on EVERFI, please read in the text pages 574-581. In addition compile a running record of vocabulary related to the topics:

Budget, Checking Account, Minimum requirement balance, Overdraft, ATM, Debit Card, Interest, Savings Account, Money Market Fund, Certificate of Deposit (CD), Investments options.

We went to the lab to log into EVERFI http://www.everfi.com/everfi, and you completed the overview intro so that your modules opened up. We will begin module one tomorrow.
