World-Economics-13th Seminar

World:  We viewed Conquest from Guns Germs and Steel. There's still a little more to finish up. Be sure you have completed the film questions, and remember that Cornell Notes for 20.4 Colombian Exchange are due tomorrow.

Key ideas from GGS: How have guns germs and steel reshaped the world?

  • Why was the balance of power so unequal?
  • Geography separates the winners from the losers.
  • Roots of power
  • AfroEurasia v. The Americas: Longitude v. Latitude issue...how significant is that?
Economics: We finished Freakonomics.  After a small debriefing tomorrow, we will go into GDP.  Be sure 12.1 is complete as is the organizer for tomorrow.  Think about the significance of incentives, cost/benefit, cause and effect and choice related to Freakonomics and GDP.

Seminar: Capstones continue. J-294. Be sure you are making time to preview your presentation in J294 to avoid technological difficulties.
