Economics-Focus-World

Economics: We further worked with the definition of ECONOMICS today, then read together a reading and pov related to economics which reflected fairness and social justice.  We began a "couch potato" activity which we will finish in class related to the 6 principles of economics. Do you know the 6 principles?  Today's ideas reflected: economic reasoning, choice, costs, benefits, opportunity costs, trade offs.  Due MONDAY are the Cornell Notes for chapter 1, sections 1 & 2.

Focus: Mentoring first, than Strand:  In mentoring we did an activity related proverbs/culture and generation.  In strand, you worked on your Glogster on a critical issue, it's due on Thursday.  Your second post has been commented on by me.  Read each other's posts and please comment.

World: Today we continued with the Scientific Revolution, but first I returned your quiz and we went over the solutions. In class we read together the Galileo reading and revisited the historical context of the scientific revolution via handout.  Finally, we explored via an interactive power point the concepts of Humanism that are set forth in the scientific revolution.  You were confronted with Empirical evidence to help you understand the challenges to scholasticism.  Due on Monday, Cornell notes chapter 22 section 1.
