World: Today we revisited the Fervor of Revolution and took a step further by using SOAPS to evaluate seven short primary documents. Be sure to reflect on the big questions when reflecting on the material for tomorrow's "coffeehouse" discussion. Be sure you have a solid understanding of the documents and are prepared for the coffeehouse. You had time in class to complete SOAPS and to prepare for tomorrow.
Economics: We began the corporate globalization of food today and you viewed one segment of Food, Inc. During the documentary, you have been asked to complete a double entry diary to journal your acquisition and inquiry of information. We began class by analyzing some ingredients that turned out to be the special sauce on a Big Mac, (yuck!) I also directed you to http://www.cspinet.org/reports/chemcuisine.htm to learn about chemicals and food additives.
We will continue with the film tomorrow. Work on your budget project. See previous blog posts for info on insurance and such. The due date is upon you, so be sure you are working.
