Upon entry into class you submitted your "entry/exit slip" given yesterday. I will get those graded and returned to you. I identified for you H&G, Pastoralist's, Horticulturalists, Agriculture....
Three questions to contemplate:
1. What circumstances are necessary to define a society as civilized?
2. Why would it take 5000 years for cities to develop after the agricultural revolution?
3. What does it take to be a civilization? Was farming a good idea?
Consider the Gods must be crazy clip. Why is this significant to our study of World History?
13th Seminar: Report to the classroom on Friday at 10:45 for priority submission of internship requests. You should be working on your college applications.

Civics, Focus & World
Hello everyone: Sorry to be out today and tomorrow, but I've been dealing with a family emergency where both my mother and father have been hospitalized in the last two days. I know Mrs. Iden is taking good care of you and implementing the plans, much of which happened to be left over from last week, so please continue to treat her with respect and give your best effort.
Please continue to stay focused and work hard.
World: Review the material because there is a lot and it's all very new. Be sure you are making the connections with GGS and the issues related to Yali's question. Also, you have been working on the classical civilizations which you will finish up tomorrow.
Civics: Be sure you complete the current event... already some of you have chosen not to complete the assignment and this is a poor decision. There has been a lot going on in the news over the past five days, so there are no excuses. What's the latest in the middle east? The recent news surrounding Mitt Romney concerns whom? Why? How has a movie trailer about Islam sparked controversy globally. Stay the course, I will return as soon as the health issues in my family get sorted out.
Focus: At this time your blog pages should be designed and ready for me to look at. Tomorrow you will have time to research for your first post which will hopefully be no Thursday. Please read at least three articles before you settle in on an opinion and prepare you blog post. Remember, you will cite only one source which will be linked to your blog. I DO NOT WANT YOU TO POST UNTIL I SEE YOUR BLOG PAGE. USE TOMORROW'S CLASS TIME TO BECOME EXPERTS ON YOUR ISSUE. There's a lot going on in the world. Zoom in on the middle east, how about recent developments with the republicans and Romney? If you are a weather bug...feel free to focus on the changing weather patters. Whatever interests you... go for it.
Have a great Wednesday!
Please continue to stay focused and work hard.
